A bicycle holiday at Majorca – this was our idea for the next bike holiday. The weather at Majorca is very consistens, so we could almost be sure that we will have good weather during our bike holidays (we traveled in mid-May 2019). Who wants to cycle in rainy weather or sweating on very hot temperatures?!
We chose the Vuelta de Mallorca because we wanted to go on a tour of Mallorca to see as many places and see more than if we only stay in one hotel. The journey is also an important point for us. We don’t want long journeys / flights to get to our destination. Our cycling holiday started on Sunday with the arrival to Majorca – without any problems!
Our group quickly arrived at the Hotel Aluasoul Palma. The hotel is in a quiet area. Sometimes you can hear and see planes land or start. That was not a problem for us. The rooms are neat and well maintained. The buffet is rich and everyone finds delicious meals.
To finally discover the bike paths in Majorca, we went to the information meeting on Monday morning. We got all necessary travel documents and a lot of information about the bike tour.
After the meeting we started the first bike stage along the promenade and continue along a short uphill and continue to Colonia Sant Jordi, our first destination. The hotel is also very nice and located in a quiet area.
The next day we continued to Porto Cristo. In the city center we checked in at the Hotel Felip. The 3rd stage was via Manacor to Picafort. There we spent 2 nights. That’s why you don’t need to pack your luggages on this day.
On Friday again very varied program was announced: In Inca, the bus transfer was already waiting for us to go up into the mountains. The transfer is already included in the price. We could never have done it by bike – that would have been too strenuous! This is in our opinion only for very sporty road biker. Once at the top you can visit the monastery Lluc. Afterwards there was the delicious Paella as advertised in the offer. Down we ride to Port Soller, a very nice coastal town.
The last day of cycling began with the tram ride to main town Soller, where we changed to the train to ride to Palma. Both are an experience! But of course that was not all! We still expect a city tour by bike in Palma. We visited the cathedral and were very well informed about Palma.
We recommend everyone to do this sightseeing tour by bike!
From Palma we ride to Playa, where we were booked again in the hotel Aluasoul Palma.
Out Majorca tour was super organized, the weather was fine, the food in all of the hotels was good and the bikes were well maintained. We experience a bike tour without problems! We recommend the trip! We want to mentioned that there are many swimming opportunities to cool down during the tour or even afterwards!
