Adige Cycle Tour- classic tour

From South- Tirol to Verona! It is delightful to see the Mediterranean way of life gradually grow from the tart-fresh tyrolean mountain village. A pleasant bike ride – surrounded by mountains and beautiful landscapes, past historic villages to Verona.

TOUR PROFILE: A simple tour, mostly flat or slightly downhill. The route was chosen to be mainly on cycle paths. 

Individual arrival in Nauders. You will receive the travel documents and rental bikes (if booked). An unguarded private parking lot near the hotel is included.

With a slight ascent to the Reschensee. Along the picturesque lake to the Marienkron monastery; gently descending to Laatsch, Glurns and the beautiful holiday resort of Schlanders.

In the valley of the Adige River, mostly directly along the river, you cycle flat to slightly descending through cultivated orchards - with a wonderful panorama of the Ortler Group - through the beautiful holiday resorts of South Tyrol; Tschirland, Dornsberg Castle and others are on the way. Through the spa town of Meran and on flat cycle paths via Andrian to the Etsch/Eisack estuary near the massive Sigmundskron Castle and along the cycle path directly to the centre of Bolzano (Ötzi museum, arcades, cathedral, Gries church with Pacher Alter etc.).

Further along the Adige you cycle to Neumarkt-Auer and the Salurner Klause. This takes you to San Michele all'Adige and the centre of the old Council city of Trento (cathedral, castle, Neptune fountain, picturesque townscape, numerous shopping facilities, town hall, Roman finds, etc.).

Always stay on the Adige cycle path and cycle through picturesque vineyards to Rovereto (enchanting centre, monuments), you arrive in the lonely town of Mori, then Lopi and finally slightly uphill to San Giovanni; continue via Torbole and along Lake Garda very beautifully to Riva/Arco.

Short transfer to San Giovanni (3 km), from where you continue the bike tour flat to slightly downhill to San Roco; on the Adige cycle path to Belluno- Veronese; after a short ascent you reach the Albaré on a side road; on cycle paths directly to the hotel to Cavaion Veronese.

About 2.5 km on a side road to the Canale Cammuzoni. Along this irrigation system for the fortresses of Verona and Mantua you cycle along the cycle path away from the traffic with beautiful views over the Adige to the 1st cyclist lookout tower and on to Bussolengo. After approx. 1.5 km of side road, continue along this water until you reach the centre of Verona.

Return transfer to Nauders or additional nights in Verona.

You will stay in good middle-class hotels in the 3*** category. From Trento onwards all rooms also have air- conditioning. Location: quiet, mostly with own restaurant. All rooms have private shower/WC, telephone. Tourist tax has to be paid on spot.

Return transfer from Verona to Nauders:

By bus: 

May and August: Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday
June and July and September: every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
October: only on Saturday and Sunday

Return transfer by bus from Verona to Nauders - per person € 68,-. Own bikes can be transported for a fee of:

€ 42,-/ normal bike (WITHOUT transport insurance)'
€ 48,-/ E-Bike (WITHOUT transport insurance)

This service has to be booked together with the reservation of the trip!

Important notice: If you bring your own bikes it is at your own risk! No liability can be accepted for damage to your own bike during the entire cycle tour and during transfers!
