The capital Mahón welcomes you with all its beauty: the old city with its English influences as well as the impressive natural harbour. Before your bike tour will start on the next day, you can go for a walk through the city of Mahon with its sightseeing spots.
After the welcome meeting, you start the bike tour to the south of the island, to the village of Sant Luis, founded by the French, characterised by its windmill. Whitewashed walls line the path to the “white village” of Binibequer Vell with its intricate houses and narrow alleys. You cycle along the coast on your way back past Punta Prima Beach and the offshore lighthouse.
Today, you have to pack your bags. You cycle to Es Grau and to the Albufera Lagoon with its numerous bird species, among them the fish eagle. The lagoon is the centre of Menorca’s Biosphere Reserve. At the lighthouse of Faváritx, you are greeted by a moon landscape of grey-black slate. The route takes you to the famous Es Mercadal, a culinary highlight.
From Es Mercadal, across the farmland lined with stonewashed walls, you discover the beaches of the North, which are collected like pearls on a single string: Pregonda, Binimel-là and Cavalleria with the former Roman harbour Sanitja, and, last but not least, the fishing village of Fornells where every now and then the Spanish King used to dine. The path takes you back to Es Mercadal.
The day begins with packing, before you get to the village of Es Gran Migjorn with its white houses. After Ferreries, we arrive at the bathing beach Cala Galdana and continue west on historical paths, past prehistoric sites with their taulas and talayots. Shaped by aristocracy and clergy, the former capital Ciutadella awaits at your destination.
.After breakfast, our guide will pick you up for a walk around town. In the afternoon, to conclude your cycle tour, a few options are at your disposal: visit the bays of Algaiarens, Cala Morell with its prehistoric burial caves, or the lighthouse of Punta Nati, embedded in an impressively rugged cliff landscape.
With Ciutadella as your starting point, today you discover the beaches of the South Macarella, Turqueta or Son Saura. On your way back you cycle between stone walls past farmsteads, the so-called Llocs – with their own
cheese production. It's the end of the bike tour.
