SunBike Tour: Salzburger Seenland & Salzkammergut - rally

Experience the Salzburger Seenland & Salzkammergut in their original form - away from alpine kitsch and enjoy a healthy holiday in an authentic way that lives up to its importance. It is a home-based tour. Starting point of this bike tour is Neumarkt am Wallersee, where you will stay for 3 nights. Then you will change to lake Wolfgangsee for 3 nights.
This bike rally is ideal for all those who don't have to pack their bags all the time during the bike tour, but still want to experience a lot. The city of Salzburg offers numerous opportunities for sightseeing (trick fountains, Hellbrunn Palace, old town, Mozart's birthplace, ...) Two boat trips on Lake Traunsee and Lake Hallstättersee are also on the program for this bike tour. You will visit the imperial and cultural city of Bad Ischl, which has numerous sights to offer such as Imperial Villa, Lehar Villa, Trinkhalle and much more. An active bike tour with pleasure!

TOUR PROFILE: most of the tour runs on bike paths and side roads. The landscape is slightly hilly.

Individual arrival to Neumarkt am Wallersee. Here the information meeting will be in the evening.

Mostly along the Wallersee cycling path and along on Ischlertrasse (the historical rail ran here from 1891 to 1957) the bike tour leads you to Salzburg, the visit to Palace Hellbrunn with its extensive park and the world-wide unique water games invites you to dream. There are so many places to see in the "Mozart City" Salzburg! Back by train from Salzburg to Neumarkt am Wallersee.

This route leads you by bike to the lake Wallersee (here lived the famous writers Carl Zuckmayer and Stefan Zweig) and further on to Egelseen and to Trumer Seen (lake Mattsee, lake Obertrumersee, lake Grabensee) to Neumarkt am Wallersee.

Today you leave the Seenland area and cycle to the Salzkammergut. Arrived at lake Irrsee it continues to lake Mondsee with the castle and Benedictine monastery and further on to Scharfling. There a bus transfer over Scharflingpass awaits you. Continue by bike to St. Gilgen and along the west shore cycle path to the Hotel at lake Wolfgangsee.

From the Hotel at Wolfgangsee the bike path (Ischler Ache river) leads you to Bad Ischl and further on along the river Traun. In Ebensee you take the boat to station "Hoisn" and cycle along the east shore bike path to Gmunden with its ceramic carillon and castle Orth. By train it goes from Altmünster to Bad Ischl  (imperial villa "Kaiservilla", Leharvilla, Trinkhalle "pump room"). At the end you will reach the hotel through a relaxed bike ride.

Today you cycle to Bad Ischl and along the Traun river to Hallstatt (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Return by ferry and continue by train to Bad Ischl. The last part you cycle back to the hotel at lake Wolfgangsee.

At the last day Bustransfer back to the Hotel in Neumarkt am Wallersee in the morning.
